Photographing the Premiere of SantaCon, Directed by Seth Porges

The premiere of SantaCon, a documentary directed by Seth Porges, brought together the filmmakers, contributors, and figures closely tied to the history of the event itself. I was hired to photograph the premiere and post-screening discussion, documenting both the public presentation of the film and the conversations it generated.

Attendees included John Law, a founder of SantaCon and Burning Man, and Danny Strong, whose involvement underscored the film’s connection to both its origins and its broader cultural reach. Following the screening, a Q&A provided additional context around the documentary’s perspective, production, and subject matter.

The photographic approach prioritized clarity and coverage over spectacle—capturing the screening, audience engagement, and on-stage dialogue in a way that could support press use, archival needs, and future promotion.
